On the occasion of the 90th Opera Festival 2012, from the fantastic setting of the Arena di Verona, on Saturday 23rd June at 9 p.m. Sky broadcasted live Aida by Giuseppe Verdi, one of the greatest masterpieces of the Italian opera, in a unique version.
For the first time ever, in fact, Aida will be broadcasted in 3D from the greatest outdoor opera theatre in the world.
For this production, made by Sky3D and Classica in collaboration with Fondazione Arena di Verona, Sky will use 10 shooting points and sophisticated technical devices for a commitment which will involve more than 40 workers.
The event was broadcasted live on Saturday 23rd June 2012 at 9 p.m. on Sky 3D, a channel born in collaboration with Samsung, and simultaneously on Classica (channel 728) and on Primafila, Sky pay-per-view service. But Aida in 3D will also make its appearance at the cinema, thanks to the partnership between Sky 3D and The Space, which will display it live in 36 cinemas of The Space distribution in many Italian cities.
A unique appointment, with an internationally appreciated cast conducted by Daniel Oren and an unforgettable mise-en-scène by Gianfranco de Bosio, in order to recall the same set design of the historic performance in 1913 which inaugurated the first opera season at the Arena di Verona, almost a century ago.
